The York Dispatch wants to publish photographs
of work that your organization has been involved in. Since we're not
able to send a staff photographer to every event, the next best thing
is for us to use pictures that you, your friends and coworkers might
have taken. Here's what we need in a photograph that you send us.
* For best results get close to your subjects.
The less we need to crop a photograph the better the results are
in our newspaper.
* Please use a flash even if you're shooting outdoors. Set the flash
on auto. On a bright sunny afternoon we still need flash to help
fill in the shadow areas.
* If you shoot digitally, or can get your picture scanned into a
computer, we welcome .jpgs. Jpgs are universal and can be opened
on most computers.
* Size the photo anywhere from 3" x 4" to 8" x 10"
and make sure all images are at 200 dpi (dots per inch). These images
will not be too big to e-mail and yet will be big enough for excellent
newspaper production.
* Send the text information in the e-mail message along with an
attached .jpg photograph. Information showing up in the text box
can be read by both PC and Mac computers.
* E-mail the photo tonews@yorkdispatch.com * If you have further questions about photography,
please call assistant managing editor/visuals Randy Flaum at 505-5449
