Police in Lancaster County are investigating the death of a man who was found dead in the Susquehanna River just south of Three Mile Island nuclear power plant.

Susquehanna Regional Police Lt. Stephen Englert said two Dauphin County fishermen were wading in shallow water on the shores of Conoy Township, when they found the body. The man, whose identity has not been confirmed, is also probably from Dauphin County, Englert said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday. Englert said he could not say whether it was believed the death was an accidental drowning, a suicide or a homicide.

"At this point, we'll not speculate on foul play," he said.

He said there were no missing person reports that matched the man's description.
