Penn State football player Knowledge Timmons was accepted into a year-long first-offender's program as punishment for his involvement in an Oct. 7 fight at the State College campus.

After successfully completing the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program, Timmons' record will be expunged of disorderly conduct and defiant trespass charges stemming from the fight.

Timmons said Friday morning that he learned Thursday he would be able to take part in the program. He said he was glad he was accepted into the program and that his record will be cleared.

Coach Joe Paterno suspended the special teams standout in January after Timmons was charged in the campus fight.

The former William Penn football star is now permitted to work out with the
Nittany Lions team in the weight room and training facilities, and his status will be reviewed after the resolution of the legal issues.

Timmons, a junior, also faced a possible suspension from the university, but instead has been put on probation that requires him to keep his grades up.

In addition to the Oct. 7 fight, Timmons was allegedly present at an April 1, 2007, apartment invasion in State College. Timmons was not charged in that incident, which resulted in charges for several other Penn State football players. The group of men allegedly rushed into an apartment and were involved in a fight.
