NANTICOKE, Pa.—An accident at a Luzerne County high school has claimed the life of a 19-year-old skateboarder.

Nanticoke police say the teen died Saturday at a Scranton hospital from injuries he sustained during an accident a day earlier at Greater Nanticoke Area High School's parking lot.

Police say the victim was hanging onto a moving car when he somehow fell and struck his head on the pavement. They say he was not wearing any safety equipment.

Police are still trying to determine exactly how the accident occurred. The name of the victim wasn't immediately released.
