The York Revolution seemed to be on the way to finally solving its problems at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, Conn., Wednesday night.

Then disaster set in.

York entered the bottom of the eighth inning with a one-run lead over Bridgeport and then just about everything went wrong. Relief pitcher Jason Olson was ejected from the game for arguing balls and strikes and the Revs committed four errors in the inning to allow Bridgeport to claim an 8-6 victory before an announced crowd of 1,027.

York (5-7) did battle back with two runs in the ninth inning, but it wasn't enough to avoid a sixth straight road loss and a sweep at the hands of the Bluefish (7-5). The Revs are now 2-10 all-time at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard.

Matt Trent relieved Olson in the eighth and took the loss, although it was York's defense that blew the game. Matt Esquivel dropped a line drive and shortstop Keoni De Renne was charged with three miscues in the inning -- events that led to five unearned runs.

Matt Dryer snapped out of his early season funk at the plate and connected for his first home run of the year in the fourth. He finished 2-for-2 with three runs scored. Matt Padgett
also came up big with a three-run homer in the seventh that gave York a 4-3 lead.

Spot starter Aaron Rakers was denied his second win of the year despite pitching six innings and only allowing three earned runs.

Trent was charged with the other five runs, although only one was earned.

LANCASTER DROPS FINALE WITH CAMDEN: Despite holding an early two-run lead, Lancaster fell apart behind two big defensive miscues in a 9-5 loss to Camden at Clipper Magazine Stadium. Starting pitcher Eric Ackerman pitched well but his costly error in the sixth allowed the Riversharks' three-run rally. Manny Mejia homered to right field in the game for Lancaster and Mike Woods extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a single. The Barnstormers travel to Newark, N.J., for a four-game set with the Bears this weekend.

SENATORS LOSE ON LATE HOMER: Dave Maroul launched a solo homer in the top of the ninth that was the difference in Connecticut's 3-2 win over Harrisburg at Commerce Bank Park. The Senators' Tristan Crawford pitched six innings and only allowed one run with six strikeouts, but he got a no decision. Ian Desmond's sacrifice fly in the sixth gave Harrisburg (20-12) a brief one-run lead before Maroul's heroics in the ninth. The Senators will send Shairon Martis (2-0, 2.78 ERA) to the mound tonight in the finale against the Defenders.
