Behind business
You know the story of the tortoise and the hare. There are tortoises and hares in business plus many other animals in the business "zoo."
The image I like the best is that business is not a tiger to be shot or a cow to be milked but is the steady horse pulling the wagon of prosperity.
In this presidential election year this is a message that governments at all levels need to hear, and I invite you to connect with our ProBusiness effort, starting at our booth at the Expo -- a sold-out show with 200-plus exhibitors each bringing innovation, service, leadership and growth to our economy and community.
A slowing economy gets us all thinking about what we can do to cut costs, and for some, to hope and pray that they can pay the next bill.
Now is the time to innovate to become more efficient and effective. Particularly local governments. Many boroughs are growing too slowly, and many surrounding townships are growing too fast for their infrastructure to keep pace, or in areas that should be preserved.
The resources are there to help address quality growth, and the chamber is willing and able to help, especially bringing the next generation of leaders to the table.
See you at the Expo.
